JIES News 2014-2015
To celebrate Shibuya Peace Day some students at JIES decided to make peace themed art. The fifth, and sixth graders wrote messages about peace and folded them into cranes that will be sent to a school in California. First grade made multicolored paper that they folded into cranes and were hung at different levels from a hanger. Third grade made peace themed posters, and fourth grade gave Japanese oral presentations about Peace.
The fourth graders were invited to meet the mayor and present the artwork to him. They also wrote speeches in both English and Japanese about exchange activities in Jingumae International Exchange School and presented their speeches to the mayor. We were very excited to join in such a great experience, and we were very appreciative to see that our peace projects from last year are still being displayed outside of the mayor's office.
